Landscape Maintenance Crew Worker / Driver

Job Description

We are a well established, all-phases landscaping company based in SW Portland / Beaverton, Oregon with 30 employees. We have an immediate position open for and experienced landscape maintenance crew leader / driver with one of our weekly lawn care crews. The position is full time, 40-50 hours per week except for 3 months during the winter where our crews work one week on, and then one week off. We do strictly residential landscaping and maintenance. No commercial jobs.

Job duties will include:

Lead Crew, Supervise One Other Worker
Drive company truck and trailer to approximately 15 homes each day.
Mowing, edging, fertilizing, raking leaves, pruning, blowing, and weed control.
Occasionally assist with landscape clean-ups or light landscaping projects / enhancements. Barkdusting, planting, etc.
Drive trucks to yard debris disposal center to unload.
Communicating / working together with managers in the company
Assure proper use, care and inventory of company vehicle, equipment and tools assigned.
Promote and maintain safe working conditions
Shop upkeep


Skill Requirements

Fluent in Spanish is a big plus as many of your co-workers will be Hispanic.
Valid Driver's License and good driving record
Reliable. Ability to be on time and be at work every day you are scheduled to work
Min. 1 year experience as landscape maintenance crew leader / driver.
Detailed experience using all landscape maintenance equipment, such as; 21" mowers, mid-mowers, edgers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, aerators, power rake, pulling trailers, backpack sprayers, commercial fertilizer spreaders, blowers, etc.
Excellent people skills
Positive attitude
Be drug-free and responsible


Compensation

Pay will start at $11.50 per hour. Over 40 hours in a week will be paid at the overtime rate of $17.25 per hour. We typically work 40-50 hours per week for most of the year.

Will help with installation, maintenance, and repair in maintenance of our equipment. Mechanically inclined individual.

Perform planning of installation jobs and assist Lead Installer.
Verify and interpret work order information
Verify receipt of all necessary equipment and information
Must be familiar with all equipment types.
Must be able to prepare necessary reports and paperwork with 100% accuracy
Must be able to perform both independently and as part of a team.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Drives or rides to work location. Works inside central offices most of the time; may be required to work at remote locations, including outdoors and customer premise.
Heavy lifting may be required in handling tools, materials and supplies.
May be required to work day, evening or night tours and overtime.

Basic Qualifications:

Must be able to read, write and perform the following mathematical calculations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
